Abrehet Tesfay, age 56, of New Paltz, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.
Ms. Tesfay was born September 1, 1954 in Eritrea, Africa, the daughter of the late Taame and the late Lemlem (Woldegherghis) Teferi.
She was employed by SUNY New Paltz.
She is survived by her husband Fahmy Tesfay, New Paltz; three daughters, Rozina Ghule of New Paltz, Tirhas Tesfay of New Paltz and Alem “Desiree” Tesfay of New Paltz; four sons, Elias Hizgby of New Paltz, Negasi Tesfay of Wallkill, Ephraim Tesfay of New Paltz, Eyasu Tesfay of New Paltz; eight grandchildren and two brothers and one sister of Eritrea, Africa.
Calling hours will be Saturday, Oct. 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc. Burial will follow at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, 81 Plains Rd., New Paltz.
