On Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m., the second annual Phools Parade: Come As You Art! will march from the New Paltz Middle School, proceed down Main Street up to Plattekill Avenue and end at Hasbrouck Park for official judging by local artists and scientists. Prizes will be awarded in honor of outstanding phoolish creations in a variety of categories for adults and kids alike!

Conceived by a group of area artists and arts organizers including Eileen Brand Hedley, Melanie Cronin and G. Steve Jordan, the Phools Parade aims to engage the community in an event that brings out the artist in each of us. The parade gives participants an opportunity to show off their creative spark, whether you choose to drive or push a sculpture, engage in performance art or fashion costumes, banners, puppets, etc. This year, the organizers have added new prize categories and are excited to welcome motorized vehicles to the parade. Please register all vehicles in advance at www.phoolsparade.com. All ages and skill levels are welcomed and encouraged.
