Shadowland Theatre will hold local performer auditions for its 2011 summer season this Tuesday, April 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Theatre at 157 Canal Street in downtown Ellenville.

Hoping to draw from the best talent that the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions have to offer, Brendan Burke, producing artistic director at Shadowland, says, “We utilize both union and non-union actors and look forward to a large response this year. While it is preferred that actors who audition come prepared with a brief monologue of their choosing, sides will be available, if necessary. In addition, actors should submit a headshot and résumé the day of the audition.”

Shadowland seeks talent for its five summer-season productions, including the Irish drama The Seafarer by Conor McPherson; the musical The Andrews Brothers created by Roger Bean; the comedy The Ladies’ Man by Charles Morey, adapted from Georges Feydeau; the drama Medal of Honor Rag by Tom Cole; and the world premiere of a new comedy by C. C. Loveheart and John Simon, Jackass Flats.

Shadowland Theatre is a professional nonprofit Actors’ Equity company in Ellenville, Shadowland performs in a restored 1920s Art Deco vaudeville/moviehouse converted to a 172-seat Theatre. For more information and specific character descriptions, visit www.shadowlandtheatre.org.
