It’ll be a homecoming for guitarist Jim Weider when he brings his PRoJECTPERCoLAToR to the Bearsville Theater on Friday, September 16 at 9 p.m. The local hero will perform from his albums PULSE and Percolator, as well as tunes from the Band and others, as he returns to Woodstock for the first time in years. “I mostly tour outside of town,” Weider said. “It’s great to be playing at home, because people from back in high school have the possibility of showing up, and other people I know. It’s nice.”

Weider, who will travel all night from New Brunswick, Canada after performing with the Levon Helm Band, will be joined by Rodney Holmes (Santana, the Brecker Brothers) on drums, Avi Bortnick (the John Scofield Band) on guitar, Jason Crosby (the Robert Randolph Band) on keyboards and violin and Steve Lucas (Steve Kimock) on bass guitar. Weider said that special guests for the performance are also in the works.

But what should attendees expect from the show? “Groove guitar rock is what I call it,” Weider said. “People will be able to dance. There’s instrumentals with heads on them, actual melodies.”

The show will be opened by the Connor Kennedy Band, an outfit led by a guitarist whose age belies his talent. Tickets for the general admission show are $20. For more information, visit and
